Rotary & Inner Wheel
Rotary International, the world’s first service club organisation, is made up of more than 1.2 million members in 33,000 clubs across more than 200 countries and geographical areas worldwide.
In Great Britain and Ireland alone, there are 55,000 Rotarians in 1,850 clubs. Rotary club members form a global network of men and women of all ages – business, professional and community leaders – who volunteer their time and talents to serve their local communities and to help those less fortunate around the world. Activities include the support of community events; running projects to promote the achievements of young people; organising educational programmes, and supporting local businesses. Clubs also raise hundreds and often thousands of pounds for local charities and international projects. |
Inner Wheel is one of the largest women’s voluntary service organisations in the world, with members in 103 countries.
There are 100,000 members in 3,895 clubs globally. Originally formed to unite the wives and daughters of Rotarians, it is now open to women with similar ideals. There are currently 891 clubs in Great Britain and Ireland, and just over 23,000 members. |
